Course Description

Instruction is designed so technical personnel responsible for the hands- on maintenance of the LM6000 will benefit most from this training. Scope of training focuses on selected Level 2 procedures identified in the applicable Operation and Maintenance manual.

This course is intended for customers who want to expand their on-site maintenance capabilities to include internal repairs of the GE LM6000 Aeroderivative gas turbine.

Prerequisites

Instruction is given in English; therefore, a reasonable ability to read and understand spoken English is required.

A basic understanding of your gas turbine or completion of the LM6000 Engine Familiarization course is highly recommended, as well as a reasonable level of mechanical skill and use of hand tools is required.

Learning Objectives

This course will provide basic knowledge on the following:

  • Removal of LP turbine
  • Removal of HP turbine
  • Removal of stage 1 nozzle
  • Removal of combustor
  • Removal of #5 bearing and inner race
  • Replacement of stage 2 HP turbine nozzle
  • Re-installation of combustor, stage 1 nozzle, HP turbine and LP turbine
