Course Description

Instruction is designed so technical personnel responsible for the hands-on maintenance of the LM2500+ will benefit most from this training. Scope of training focuses on selected Level 2 procedures identified in the applicable maintenance manual.

This course is intended for customers who want to expand their on-site maintenance capabilities to include internal repairs of the GE LM2500+ Aeroderivative gas turbine.

Prerequisites

Instruction is given in English; therefore, a reasonable ability to read and understand spoken English is required.

A basic understanding of your gas turbine or completion of the LM2500+ Engine Familiarization course is highly recommended, as well as a reasonable level of mechanical skill and use of hand tools is required.

Learning Objectives

  • Use of OMM (Operation and Maintenance Manual)
  • Removal, inspection and re-installation of internal engine components (turbine mid-frame, stage 1 HP nozzle, HP turbine rotor, stage 2 HP turbine nozzle, fuel nozzles (SAC), combustor
  • Separation of gas generator from power turbine, and re-installation
  • HPT blade balance program

LESSON 1

  1. Use of applicable Operation and Maintenance manuals
  2. Removal, inspection, and installation of internal engine components including separation of the gas generator from the power turbine

LESSON  2

  1. Turbine Mid Frame, Stage 2 high pressure turbine nozzle, high pressure turbine rotor
  2. Stage 1 high pressure turbine nozzle

LESSON 3

  1. Fuel nozzles (SAC only), Combustor, HPT Blade Balance Program

LESSON 4

  1. Installation of removed parts: Combustor, Fuel nozzles, Stage 1 high pressure turbine nozzle

LESSON 5

  1. High pressure turbine rotor, stage 2 high pressure turbine nozzle, turbine mid frame, and final joining of gas generator to power turbine
