This course is designed to familiarize the participant with the Steam Turbine Bypass Systems that play an important role in the efficient operation of a Heat Recovery Steam Generator ( HRSG ). This course will cover standard types of bypass systems, the valves that form part of the bypass systems, the control logic for the bypass valves, the types of problems that may occur in the software of the control systems, and the techniques for troubleshooting these problems. This course does not cover all details or variations in equipment nor does it provide for every possible contingency the participant may encounter when inspecting, cleaning, or removing parts of the Steam Turbine Bypass Systems. Please refer to General Electric documentation or Technical Information Letters for further information. In the even there is a conflict between this course’s content and official General Electric documentation, the official General Electric documentation shall take precedence. Contact your GE representative for further information or in response to specific problems not covered in the course. Please check the Resources and Shared Files section of this course for online technical documents. This course will make reference to HRSG, Gas and Steam turbine components, systems and subsystems. The equipment and components at your plant may be different from the examples cited in this course.
