 LM2500 SAC/DLE Level 1 Maintenance

LM2500

This course will provide academic and practical hands-on instruction on selected maintenance procedures required to return a gas turbine to a serviceable condition by removal, replacement or adjustment of external parts.

Industrial Power Systems Engineering & Device Coordination Mar. 22 - 26 Salem, VA
Friday, 26 March (03:30 PM)
Industrial Power Systems Engineering & Device Coordination

This course is designed for electrical engineers responsible for industrial or commercial power systems planning, designs for reliability and overall system performance. Students will calculate available short circuit current at varied power system one-line locations to learn how to properly size fuses, cables, breakers and transformers. By learning protective device coordination, load shedding may be accomplished with minimal impact to power system operation.

Course Content
At the completion of this course, students will be familiar with utilization of the following power system tools:

  • Short circuit calculations
  • Power factor improvement
  • Recommended motor / generator / transformer protection
  • Switchgear and system voltage selection
  • Voltage drop / flicker reduction
  • Equipment / system grounding practices
  • Load estimating techniques
  • Plant modernization recommendations
  • Protective device coordination
    • Fuses and thermal overload devices
    • Electro-mechanical and solid state relays
    • Transformers, cables and bus bars
    • Circuit breakers

EX2000 Generator Excitation Mar. 22 - 26 Salem, VA
Friday, 26 March (03:30 PM)
 EX2000 Generator Excitation

EX2000

This course offers training in the skills needed to do basic operation, maintenance and troubleshooting on an EX2000 excitation system. Learn how to operate the EX2000 exciter. Learn how to use the diagnostic Keypad and GE Control System Toolbox to troubleshoot problems. The course consists of a mix of classroom instruction and practical lab exercises using EX2000 simulators and actual EX2000 exciters.
