What will I learn from this course?

This course is conducted under extreme GT operating conditions provided by high fidelity simulation. It is designed to test and sharpen advanced operators skills for the purpose of trip reduction & recovery, maintain optimum performance & availability and development of basic alarm troubleshooting skills.  Advanced GT events as trips, load rejection, runback, shutdown and critical alarms will be central topics of this program. The course will also deal with the analysis of the Trip Log identifying possible causes of a trip and control system fundamentals.

Students will learn to accomplish these operational tasks in a safe on-line operating condition without the requirement of changing on-line values or using specialized test equipment.

* This course is 100% hands on.

Why is this course unique?

Students are encouraged to bring their own site software as part of the course (Trip & Alarm Logs, M6B file, Screens etc).  Students are also encouraged to bring their own laptops. Those who choose to participate in this manner will be provided a virtual machine (VM) of a near fully functional HMI.

* Installation of VM (Virtual Machine) software is required, certain restrictions may apply. Contact your instructor a minimum of one week prior to the course for details of laptop specifications or questions regarding site software or virtualization.

Experienced or qualified personnel whom have already completed an approved GT Operations or Familiarization course.
