LM2500+ SAC/DLE Level 1 Maintenance

LM2500

This course will provide academic and practical hands-on instruction on selected maintenance procedures required to return a gas turbine to a serviceable condition by removal, replacement or adjustment of external parts.


Who should attend?

This course is intended for customer personnel who perform or supervise maintenance on the GE LM2500+ aeroderivative gas turbine.


Prerequisites

A basic understanding of your gas turbine or completion of the LM2500+ Familiarization course is highly recommended, as well as a reasonable level of mechanical skill and use of hand tools is required. Instruction is given in English; therefore, a reasonable ability to read and understand spoken English is required.


Course Requirements and Attire 

  • Picture ID is required. No visitors will be allowed to enter the training facility without a picture ID - NO EXCEPTIONS. Please carry a picture ID at all times while on any GE premises.
  • The appropriate dress for this course is casual.
  • Please note that CTEC is a place of business - no tank tops or shirts with inappropriate verbage or signs.
  • All students taking maintenance training courses are asked to bring safety glasses (Z87 standard) and steel-toed shoes. Safety glasses will be worn when performing shop maintenance tasks. CTEC does have 1 pair of loaner shoes in the most popular sizes and disposable saftey glasses.
  • Failure to have proper Personal Protective Equipment may result in student not being able to participate in hand-on portions of course."

Effective March 1, 2011, the GE Energy Learning Center will become a tobacco-free campus and smoking will be prohibited in all areas of the property, including outdoor space owned by GE. This means that all employees, as well as customers, contractors and visitors will be prohibited from using tobacco products anywhere on our campuses, including in motor vehicles. If an individual wishes to use tobacco products he/she needs to leave the campus in order to smoke or to use smokeless tobacco. Leaving campus is only acceptable during regularly scheduled lunch breaks. Leaving the property during shorter class breaks will not provide adequate time to return to class. Persons who do not comply will be asked to leave the campus.

Agenda

Day 1 Discussion of different levels of maintenance
  Use of applicable Operations and Maintenance manuals
Preventative maintenance and servicing

Day 2-5 Replacement of selected external components including variable geometry actuators,
  hydraulic control unit, variable geometry control and rigging of system if applicable,
lubrication and scavenge pump, pressure and temperature sensors, fuel nozzles, vibration
accelerometers, ignition components, starter, speed sensors, air/oil separator, carbon seals,
and external pipes and hoses.
