Generator Protection Panel

This course offers the skills needed for maintenance and troubleshooting of the Generator Protection Panel. Learn how to collect data after a trip. Read the electrical drawings to help troubleshoot problems. The class consists of a mix of classroom instruction, demonstrations and practical lab exercises using Generator Protection Panels and Protection Relays..
Who should attend?
Qualified engineers and technicians who wish to gain an understanding of the operation, troubleshooting and configuration Generator Protection Panel.
Prerequisites
The class is open to qualified engineers and technicians who have a basic technical knowledge of power plant operation. The student should have reasonable computer skills. Instruction is given in English, therefore a reasonable ability to read and understand spoken English is required.
Course Requirements and Attire
The appropriate dress for this course is casual. Please note that the GE Energy Learning Center is a place of business - no tank tops or shirts with inappropriate verbage or signs.
Effective March 1, 2011, the GE Energy Learning Center will become a tobacco-free campus and smoking will be prohibited in all areas of the property, including outdoor space owned by GE. This means that all employees, as well as customers, contractors and visitors will be prohibited from using tobacco products anywhere on our campuses, including in motor vehicles. If an individual wishes to use tobacco products he/she needs to leave the campus in order to smoke or to use smokeless tobacco. Leaving campus is only acceptable during regularly scheduled lunch breaks. Leaving the property during shorter class breaks will not provide adequate time to return to class. Persons who do not comply will be asked to leave the campus.
