PC Historian

This course offers the skills needed to access past turbine data from GE's PC Historian using PI ProcessBook and Internet Explorer. Add new signals from Mark V or Mark VI to the Historian. Permanently store archive files on tape backup. Retrieve archived data from tape backup. Create shift reports using Microsoft Excel. Troubleshoot data collection problems. The class consists of a mix of classroom instruction and practical lab exercises using PC Historians and turbine simulators.


Who should attend?

lified engineers and technicians who wish to gain an understanding of the operation and configuration of the PC Historian and PI Processbook software.


Prerequisites

The class is open to qualified engineers and technicians who have previously attended a Mark V or Mark VI class. The student should have reasonable computer skills. Instruction is given in English, therefore a reasonable ability to read and understand spoken English is required.


Course Requirements and Attire 

The appropriate dress for this course is casual. Please note that the GE Energy Learning Center is a place of business - no tank tops or shirts with inappropriate verbage or signs.

Effective March 1, 2011, the GE Energy Learning Center will become a tobacco-free campus and smoking will be prohibited in all areas of the property, including outdoor space owned by GE. This means that all employees, as well as customers, contractors and visitors will be prohibited from using tobacco products anywhere on our campuses, including in motor vehicles. If an individual wishes to use tobacco products he/she needs to leave the campus in order to smoke or to use smokeless tobacco. Leaving campus is only acceptable during regularly scheduled lunch breaks. Leaving the property during shorter class breaks will not provide adequate time to return to class. Persons who do not comply will be asked to leave the campus.
