Woodward Graphical Application Programmer - GAP™

This course introduces site engineers and technicians to the Woodward Graphical Application Programmer (GAP). Course material includes installing and licensing the GAP™ editor and monitor software. Exercises provide training on application viewing options, navigation, block functionality, block alignment, application documentation, and how to use this information to troubleshoot turbine applications, turbine-based alarms, application sequencing, and I/O calibration. Students will create, error check, compile, download, and test their application. In addition, this class covers the use of Application Manager, Monitor GAP, and Control Assistant.
Who should attend?
Site personnel who need to enhance their understanding of the GAP program, and might want to edit or further document their site application.
Prerequisites
- A basic understanding of Prime mover equipment and its operation
- Familiarity with control system basics
- Reasonable computer skills
- Instruction is given in English; therefore, a reasonable ability to read and understand spoken English is required
Course Requirements and Attire
- All visitors must check in at the Front Desk each morning. Please carry a picture ID. Name badges will be distributed when checking in and must be worn at all times while in the facility. Please sign out at the end of each day.
- The required dress for this course is "business casual." Please no tank tops or shirts with inappropriate verbage or signs. Please wear closed-toe shoes.
Effective March 1, 2011, the GE Energy Learning Center will become a tobacco-free campus and smoking will be prohibited in all areas of the property, including outdoor space owned by GE. This means that all employees, as well as customers, contractors and visitors will be prohibited from using tobacco products anywhere on our campuses, including in motor vehicles. Leaving campus is only acceptable during regularly scheduled lunch breaks. Leaving the property during shorter class breaks will not provide adequate time to return to class.
